Balance transfer calculator - how to use this tool

Compare your current loan against a lower-rate balance transfer, net of transfer fees.

A balance transfer calculator nets out the real saving from moving a loan to a cheaper lender: interest difference minus processing fees and charges. Transfers shine early in long tenures with a wide rate gap; they rarely pay off near the end of a loan. Run your exact outstanding, remaining tenure and quoted new rate before signing anything.

Adjust sliders to stress-test assumptions, review the visual breakdown where shown, and export or share results. For a documented plan, talk to Saarthi Capital.

Frequently asked questions

What is a loan balance transfer?

You move your outstanding loan to a new lender offering a lower rate. The new lender pays off the old one and you continue EMIs with them-ideally at a meaningfully lower total cost.

When does a balance transfer actually save money?

When the interest difference over the remaining tenure clearly exceeds the transfer costs-processing fee, legal or valuation charges, and any foreclosure fee on the old loan. The saving is biggest early in a long tenure with a wide rate gap; this calculator nets all of it.

What charges apply on a balance transfer?

Typically a processing fee at the new lender (often a small percentage or flat amount), plus legal/valuation charges for secured loans. On floating-rate home loans to individuals, the old lender cannot levy foreclosure charges under RBI directions.

Does a balance transfer affect my credit score?

The new lender's hard enquiry may cause a small, temporary dip. Longer term, a lower EMI burden and clean repayment history outweigh it-just avoid multiple applications in a short span.
